We are two Chinese-American moms, and My Panda Paws is the embodiment of our commitment to passing our heritage – culture, traditions and language – to our children.

We were born overseas, currently live in New Jersey with our loving, Chinese school dropout husbands, and have five growing boys between the two of us.  It is critical to us that our children carry on our heritage, one that stretches back unbroken for over 3,000 years.  The challenge has been how to integrate this wish into our busy daily existence.

With this in mind, we strove to find the best products to help our children learn.  Each item on our site has been hand-selected for quality and a level of familiarity, through well-loved characters, that reduces the trepidation that frequently accompanies language learning.   We want to enrich their experiences growing up in America with a bit of Chinese flavor, just like how our kids like to eat fried rice TOGETHER with ketchup.

Our goal is to share this labor of love with parents who are passionate about enriching their children’s lives with a touch of Chinese heritage…  Parents like you!

On our blog, we will share recipes, shopping ideas, words, funnies, and our lives with you.  We named our “spokespanda”, Mei Mei, Chinese for little sister, since we both long for a little girl.  Mei Mei represents this labor of love and the daughter we don’t have (and can’t handle in any case given our boys!).
